I'm happy it's Friday. My sister is coming to visit me for week and we will go wedding dress shopping, thanks for all the tips girls. I do not get to see my sis often only once a year so I am very excited. I am in a busy mood getting things ready. Have a great weekend.

Pasta night

Pasta with ground turkey meat sauce loaded with mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and fresh basil, topped with Romano cheese. Salad was spring mix with caramelized cashews, diced green apples, cranberries, onions and goat cheese. Home made garlic toast, really yummy.

Just finished this

I have just finished the necklace after working on it for a couple of weeks to get it to how the bride wants it. The necklace is completely wire wrapped by hand , with pearls and crystals.

Reconnect

Today was my lazy day, I have just been in front of the computer mostly on facebook, it has been 24 hours since I reconnected with a friend (classmate 2nd grade) which I lost contact for 20 years. We have been chatting and catching up for hours. She found me on facebook and then sent me a picture that sparked the private investigator in me. Lucky thing was she did manage to put names on the students when she got that picture, which helped me to search for one particular friend that I have been thinking off but did not remember the last name. After finding a similar name, I sent her a message and it was her. I am truly happy she is American and she used to live in Bonaire but not for long. So when she left the Caribbean I was really sad and named my doll after her. I wanted to named my daughter Michelle but me and the hubby did not agree on the name.
Well I have found her and she does not live far what a small world.
One other thing that made me cry like a baby was the performance of Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent 2009, for me it was a wake up call it had me standing still and thinking of the times I have had judged people because of what they had on or how they looked. I so appreciate the saying "never judge a book by its cover" .

What we had for dinner

Many people does not know this but me and my husband we love cooking delicious meal for our family and also trying new stuff. He can stand in the kitchen for 6 hours and cook an entire indonesian rijstafel. For dinner, I had my chicken already marinated overnight and the only thing I had to do was just to pour some breadcrumbs in the ziplock bag containing the chicken. I saute it in olive oil. Made a sauce which had marmelade, mustard and ketchup and some other secret ingredients. I lay it on cheesy mashed potatoes made from scratch and peppered carrots. Made some Caribbean Punch and side salad was greens with pine nuts, apples, cranberries, onions and a champagne blush dressing. For dessert there is nothing more healthier than fruits.

I am wearing my favorite pants today, I had little time to put something together please excuse me , I am wearing a jacket over a black top cause it is in the 60's here and a bit windy too. Other than going to the gym with my friend this morning, we had some green tea at Starbucks and then I cleaned my daughters room , throwing away lots of school papers, and putting clothes away to sell either at a consignment store or at our annual neighborhood garage sale. Have a great day, I am so looking forward to American Idol tonight, will be trying out a new recipe out for a spicy buffalo chicken dip.

Black and Brown

Woke up to a stormy Monday in Georgia. After dropping kids off at school, I went with my friend Joyce to Zumba . I guess after a week of vacation, I thought I would have enough energy in the class, but I felt very tired did not do my best in class today. We did some weight training afterwards. After a quick shower , we went to get a new blender and a new pan, cause I forgot to turn off the stove after making crepes, and the pan had to say bye bye. We a had a nice lunch at Panera, Joyce has never been before and she really like it cause it reminded her of Europe. I just made a strawberry banana smoothie for the kids with my new blender, I had to use it.

Easter at Lisa's

We spent Easter at my best friend's house Lisa's. She is a very talented and stylish lady. She prepared a nice lunch for all of us, some were her mom's recipes. After eating, matzo soup, salad, and nice sandwiches, the grownup went outside to hide camouflage eggs for the kids to find. Well this year it was hard cause it all blended in really well. To top it off, we had some delicious home made desserts. I am really stuffed and planning to head out for Zumba first thing in the morning. Thank you Lisa for having us over , this was a really special treat.
