5K Knock Out Cancer Race

This morning I got to do another 5K race. I did this one in memory of two special people that lost the battle with cancer recently. After Mile 2 I was with all the people walking I wanted to quit, but I had to talk to myself " remember all the probing and all the pain these two people went so I couldn't quit I had to keep going.

So many fun things to do.

I spent my day playing draw something, playing with different photo apps, and making jewelry are soem of the pics I took. Happy Friday.

Garlic Pesto and Lemon Grass Chicken.

Tonights dinner was a hit with the kids, read earlier post:)

the kids version,  I mixed baby peas with sauteed onions and pancetta the yellow rice

and added plantains (it's a caribbean thing)

Mne version was on a bed of salad, with sauteed spinach, onions and pinenuts, and yummy

plantains.

Casual Thursday.... comfortable at it's best.

So let me go back to what I have been doing so far,  I woke up a bit late, right after 10.15 "it' ok I told myself cause you had a rougd day yesterday".
But today is a new day with new possibilities let me say ...... I woke up in a creative mood, I have been sitting at my desk working on new jewelry and so far I made 5 pieces. I am always thankful great music today I have been serenaded by James Morrison.
I like to experiment with cooking, I like to try new things, sometimes it's a hit sometimes a miss. Yesterday's roasted parsnips, butter squash and red pepper soup was not a hit with the kids, the minute they walked inside they were already asking what is that strong smell, the soup had cumin and curry in it too much for the kids too handle. Today I found this Garlic, Pesto and Lemongrass chicken recipe and I made a fried rice to go with it,  I will be eating my chicken on a bed of sauteed baby spinach with caramelized pancetta and onions and a side salad. Let's hope this recipe is hit.

Now about my outfit, not much to say, just like my minimalistic makeup comfy at it's best.

Gone too soon!

This morning while sitting in the car I got the news of her passing. Heaven received a sweet, beautiful young lady today.  Thank you God for ultimate healing. She is no longer in pain and cancer does not have the last word.  Rest in Peace,  I will miss your smile, your laughter and your beautiful singing voice.

Rest in Peace, Tamar  (August 7 1987-  April 11 2012).

Happy Easter to all who celebrates Easter and Happy Sunday for those who don't. It's another beautiful day here in Georgia, sunny and blue skies. This is what I wore. I found this Maxi either in  TJMaxx or Marshall's and wore it once last year. Belted at the waist, sandals and voila ready to lounge at home. Tomorrow we are back to waking up at 5.30 am .
