Saturday's dinner: a little taste of Indonesia

This is what I had for dinner, bami, sate , spicy peanut sauce, curry egg and homemade kroepoek (shrimp chips). I ate way too much, had to go for a long walk afterwards.

I came across this video on Jen's blog , I had to share it with my readers. This is a great cause worth fighting for. It has always been my wish to be able to help victims of sex slavery in some way, maybe through a percentage of my jewelry sales and other ideas I have jotted down in my notebook.  So today I am standing with  Love 146 and I want everyone to know that I wont settle for anything less then the abolition of child sex slavery and exploitation.  Would you please take your time to share this on  your blog, twitter, facebook or just  anyway you can, but please help get the word out there.

I had my friend Joyce helped this afternoon. Somehow in the process of filming this video I deleted all my other videos I had on, bummer!!!!! But it's ok, some of the videos are stored in my memory bank! And later I realize I misspelled the word announcement, please don't hate me English is my second language:) I am not perfect!

Happy Hump Day!

My friend/adopted sis is coming back from Holland today, and I have missed talking to her and just  hanging out with her. I cooked dinner for my family and also have some for  her and her b.friend.  This morning I had to run a couple of errands and then I was stuck in the kitchen cause they were cleaning my carpet  upstairs and also my family room. I decided to make Caribbean Fried Rice and Chicken in the Oven. I am  happy it's already the middle of the week, the weather is nice but too bad I can't lounge outside the pollen are still here, we need some rain to wash them away. But rain please do not come in the weekend, I really want to do some planting:)

Oopsie I almost forgot, today is the last day to enter the giveway I will annouce the winner tomorrow!

Spice up my salad.

Today I made this delicious salad to go with a sate "kebob"

• Use any kinda salad you have on hand.
• add red pepper, onions, avocado
• add any nuts you have on hand, I used for this one Cashews
• if you like you can add dried cranberries
• I used blackberries
• mix and add a little bit of wine blush vinagrette

There you have it a delicious and simple salad.

Monday Etsy finds: Tribal

This week on my inspiration board is coverd with tribal fashion, I have pictures of  killer jewelry, patterns and colors all working together. As a design partner for Artbeads, I need to design a piece around something old, mix it with new beads. On my recent trip to Washington I stumbled upon this old  Ethiopian Cross. So I decided to research everywhere I could for some Tribal inspiration.

The Missoni Spring 2011 collection had all these bright  loose fitting designs on their runways this year. I love everything about them the intricate designs, the bright colors and gorgeous patterns all working together in harmony. Sunday's Dinner: Chicken and Spinach in a pesto sauce.

One of my other passions trust me I have many is cooking. Today as I told in the other post was somehow a lazy day recouping from yesterday's travel from DC to Atlanta, 10 hours in a car is a lot to me. I am not complaining I am just saying.

My recipe :

• a bunch of baby spinach
• 2 chicken breast  that I cut in smaller pieces
• chopped red onions
• chopped a bunch of scallions
• grape seed oil
• Saute them all chicken first them, onions, and scallions, add the spinach
• I used a half of the pesto sauce
• cook my thin multigrain pasta then drain
• mix pasta with chicken and sauce together,
• I added some shaved Parmesan on the pasta
• add pine nuts if you like on top.

I normally do not measure if it is stuff like this, so I hope you like and if you want to try it out, it is simply delicious and quick.

What to do on a Lazy Sunday

• read a book or just a chapter
• lounge outside in the sun
• have a sandwich with nutella and peanut butter
• chat with a special friend
• listen to the Bruno Mars over and over
• day dream...............
• think about a design around a Ethiopian cross pendant I bought last week.

 These are the things I have been doing so far on this Beautiful warm Sunday.
