Happy 2014!

“In this new year, may you have a deep understanding of your true value and worth, an absolute faith in your unlimited potential, peace of mind in the midst of uncertainty, the confidence to let go when you need to, acceptance to replace your resistance, gratitude to open your heart, the strength to meet your challenges, great love to replace your fear, forgiveness and compassion for those who offend you, clear sight to see your best and true path, hope to dispel obscurity, the conviction to make your dreams come true, meaningful and rewarding synchronicities, dear friends who truly know and love you, a childlike trust in the benevolence of the universe, the humility to remain teachable, the wisdom to fully embrace your life exactly as it is, the understanding that every soul has its own course to follow, the discernment to recognize your own unique inner voice of truth, and the courage to learn to be still.”

Merry Christmas.

Since I didn't get to sent Christmas cards this year I decided to take a picture , edit and post it for my friends and family. May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through.

What I made recently.

I have no explanation for this, but I can sit still, I have to be doing something even when watching tv.  Sewing, making jewelry or working on a scarf I have come to the realization that I enjoying doing these while I catch up on my spanish soaps or documentary. Here are some recent handmade goodies.
I have been looking on Pinterest for a way to sew totes or zippered pouches and these were pretty easy to make if you follow the directions.

I have a secret love with Oversized Sweaters

images found on Pinterest.

Right now you will not find me wearing these, the weather in Atlanta is 68 degrees in the morning. Don't get me wrong I love the warm weather but since my Christmas tree is out an everything is decorated here for Winter not Summer the weather should be at a least a bit chilly. I want to wear my handmade scarves. I think this a versatile piece that keeps you warm but is still fashionable. There so many ways to pair the oversized  (bigger than the usual size) sweater, mine is with leggings and booties.
Now let's hope the weather changes up a bit so I start wearing sweaters. (just to make it clear I am not wishing for winterstorms of any kind just a little chill)

Fine Dining Experience.

Every 3 months or so 4 couples get together to experience fine cuisine. The host will put the menu together and then email them and the other 3 couples get to pick 2 choices. We will then send the recipes.
The host takes care of the appetizer, wines, main course and of course coffee, tea  and the bonbons. At time of the event, the host is not stuck in the kitchen, everyone makes their course and finishes it at our home.

This time was our turn and our theme was France meets NYC, here are some of the pics.
We went with a couple of recipes of chef Daniel. My favorite was the desert it was Amazing.
