Project: Makeover Teenage Bedroom

Kimmi has been asking for a bigger bedroom for a long time now, so this Summer we decided to start paiting the room and then go out and find the right furniture.
She wanted a nice soft beach color, we found the Sea glass swatch color at Home Depot but since I do not really  like their paint I took it to Benjamin Moore and there they matched it for me.
I wanted to see everything organized (I am a bit of neat freak) so we bought baskets to keep things like diaries, old pictures and other stuff. We bought the bed, light fixture and chair at Ikea and the desk was from Pottery Barn.
I framed black and white pictures for wall art and at Hobby Lobby I found the Paris art one, which is a reminder of our Paris trip 2 years ago.
I used a book shelf for a vanity we didn''t want to crowd the room with another furniture piece , the advantage of the shelf is that only the things she needs will be on there so it won't get cluttered.

If it could tell a story.

The story would be like this." Will someone buy me today"?? "Until she walks in but she seems like in a hurry, she grabs a belt and hold it in  her hands a shakes her head no". "Then she seems to walk away and stops  and asks "where are the scarves" the lady points to my direction". She walks back and is a bit overwhelmed she grabs a black one and she says :" not black again" get something different". "She touches me and says ooooh I like this one".She pays and leaves.

Yes I was in a hurry cause the kids were tired that day from our sightseeing in Paris. They wanted to go back to the Hotel.  I know sound silly me making up a story, but as mom I learned the art of inventing stories on the go just to keep the little kiddos entertained especially during shopping.
This sweater seems a bit plain and needed a bit of color , it was way boring actually.  I have adorned it with this colorful scarf I got on my trip to Paris. Belted at the waist for more definition. I could have worn it around the neck too but this makes the outfit different. I stayed home and went later on to a couple of stores, I had a skirt in my hand....... but my husband happily reminded me remember you can't buy anything for 30 days. I decided to put it back....... good girl. It would have been an impulse buy so thanks Love for reminding me to stick to the challenge. But the truth is I can't wait till the day I can go back to shopping:)

Inspired by: Paris

I love the art of looking back at old pictures, I was laying in bed yesterday and looking back at our summer vacation in Paris in 2009. I am thinking of way I can incorporate colors into jewelry design.
