What I made: ‘What’s Old is New Again!’

This months challenge from Artbeads is about combining something old with something new and to make it into a new jewelry design.  I wanted to pick out my old piece first so on a trip to Washington DC, I stumbled upon a bead store and bought an old Ethiopian Cross Pendant. My inspiration board was covered with tribal fashion that week cause this particular cross looked like it belong to a queen of a tribe. I have researched tribal jewelry on the Internet and then I choose a mix of  Red Magma and, Topaz and Caribbean Blue Swarovski crystal, Czech fire polished beads in an orange color I had some wood from Brazil on hand which I wanted to be in the center of the necklace around the cross pendant.

I wanted to say thank you to Duchess and Artbeads for this wonderfull opportunity.

I’m not employed by or being paid by Artbeads, and the opinions expressed in this blog are honest and completely my own. I received the following products free of charge from Artbeads.

Winter enchantment with Artbeads.

A couple of weeks ago  Artbeads asked their blog partners to create a ‘Winter Enchantment’ design that represents what you find beautiful or inspirational about the winter season. I have to confess that winter is one of my least favorite season, let me explain why. I am originally and island girl, born on the island of Bonaire I was always used to 80 degrees all year a round. Anything below 70 is cold to me.
One thing though, it might sound weird but I do look forward to snow.
I was inspired by the snow. Everytime we do get snow here in Georgia I am amazed at the color of the sky after it snowed, it's all lighten up and you see the snow on all the branches, the houses with the white rooftops, it is such a gorgeous view.
I decided to make earrings this time. For my design I  choose a mix of different sizes and colors of Swarovski crystals, Black Diamond, Crystal Silver Shades and Swarovski Pearl in Platinum. The focus of the earrings are the Swarovski Briolette Pendant in  Crystal Shade  hanging from a Sterling silver simple design bail  wirewrapped the crystals and they hang from a a Sterling Silver chain.
For all kinds of pendants and beautiful charms don't forget to check Artbeads you are in for quite a treat.

Thank you Duchess and Artbeads for this great opportunity for letting me
go back to that beautiful scene of snow.

Disclosure: I am a Blogging for Beaders partner with Artbeads. The above noted items were provided to me free of charge, to be used for design purposes, or for my honest review of them. I have not been paid for my endorsement as it pertains to the products received

The Beauty of Spring

Artbeads is declaring "February as the month of ‘The Beauty of Spring‘ I am happy to form part of their blogger program cause every month Duchess sends me an email and I get to pick anything for free. This month I had to create something with my own interpretation of Spring. To me Spring means a new beginning, renewal, birth and of course weddings. I envisioned a Spring wedding in a Botanical Garden filled with amazingly beautiful flowers including my favorite one orchids.

I chose from their gorgeous collection of Swarovski Crystals and fresh water pearls for this creation.

For the earrings  I picked out crystals and a pair of Gold-Plated Filigree Daisy Crystals.

Friday Creativity: Rings

Today was another soaked day here Georgia. I had plans with my neighbor to take trip to DSW, in search for some boots for her (wish it was for me) but at this time I do not need another pair... .......or do I ? Since she is wasn't feeling good I decided to just try a couple of new things, like making a birds nest ring, and a pair of clip on earrings, and 3 adjustable rings. The adjustable rings and the white cabuchon I ordered  them on Artbeads I had to try out different types of beads, and other stuff before they came out the way I wanted. I am very happy with the end result,  this is my first time making rings. What do you think???
Have a great weekend guys.

"All you need is love" Design of the day.

January is the month of Valentine's day for the bloggers at Artbeads. I got to choose a selection of gorgeous beads in their Valentine section and guess what they are having 15% off on all Valentine's Day items during the Love Is in the Air Sale. Anything you need to make something unique and special for your sweetheart , from heart-shaped beads and all kinds of cool charms, to pink pearls and bright red rhinestones.

For this 4 strand bracelet I used Fuchsia Potato pearls, round pink flowers with Gold swirls. I added Indian pink and faceted bicone Fushia Swarovski  AB crystals for the you know what I am talking about sparkle effect . When I saw the cool charms they have I chose the open heart  sterling silver charm I thought that it would make this bracelet even more special.

What I love about Artbeads is that they carry a large selection of Swarovski crystals and shipping is always free.  I could not ask for more, they have everything I need from beads to chains.
Now my only dilema is should I sell this on Etsy or keep is as a treat to myself:)
Before I go one more thing Artbeads is having a $1,000 giveaway be sure to enter cause you never know you might be the LUCKY ONE!

What I made today: Garnet Cubic Zirconia

Posted by Picasa

A week ago I got to choose some Cubic Zirconia beads from Artbeads . I decided to make a necklace and a pair of dangling earrings. Artbeads have quite a large selection of Cubic Zirconia beads in many shapes and colors, check them all  here.
They add glamour , a touch of  sparkle to any of your beading projects. You can dress up your little black dress with a stunning necklace made of a mix of different  colors of Cubic Zirconia.  I chose 4 mm and 6 mm faceted bicone in the Garnet color I wire wrapped them with Garnet beads. The focus bead is a faceted Oval drop Garnet and it is even more prettier in person. For the earrings I used 2  flat faceted teardrop for the earrings. I combined them with Vintaj brass.
I think the deep color of the Garnet shines more with the chocolate brown suede and the brass chain. Be sure to stop by Artbeads and check all the beautiful Cubic  Zirconia they have in store.

Disclosure: "I do not get paid by Artbeads for blogging about their products. It is a joy for me to this for them. They sent me beads for free because I am part of their blogging progam."
