Wednesday mishap!

Such a dumb thing happened to me today,  I guess I thought since I can sew I got sewing covered,  II started sewing leather  using a regular needle. Well after a couple of seconds, the needle broke and pieces flew all over the place and a tiny part got stuck in my chest.

 I am fine thank God after I saw the injured part in the mirror I ran to my neighbor who was kind enough to let me squeeze her hubby's hand while she used the tweezers to get the pieces out.

I did learn a valuable lesson.....  I need to buy needles that I can use to work with leather and  wear goggles next time or some type of glasses to protect my eyes.

Happy Hump Day!

Tomboy!

The weather is not nice and it really makes me want to lay in bed, but since I am working on Tuesday for a couple of hours I had to get myself out of the bed. These pants were brought back from Holland for me. You are supposed to wear them low but I think they look just right like this and in combination with the denim I think it looks fab. I am sorry I have not a lot to say but I am in hurry right now trying to get out for work I want to be on time.

Casual Monday: Cargo Pants.

I woke up this morning thinking 'really is it going to be another rainy day"?? Well  a couple of hours later the sun is shining bright and I am feeling energized. I am taking it easy today cause  I have been experiencing some pain in my neck and back and I am blaming it on the Bernina.
I guess it is how I am sitting at the sewing machine, I do not have a designated area for my sewing projects so I have been keeping everything neat in a chest I got at a moving sale and then when I want to sew I either sit at the formal dining table or the breakfast table. Don't get me wrong I love sewing and I love making new things but I have to take a break.

But on another note, I did some yoga streches and that seems to help, I decided to go to bed early and stop being on the ipad an hour or two early so I can really get my sleep in, I have been sipping tea and putting a heat pad on my shoulder area, so it should help. It is nice to take it easy. I hope you are having a wonderful day!

That is how I would describe this dress, it looks like a abstract painting. I have asked the hubby what color is this dress he replied green it is definitely a shade of grey , beige and green.

I paired it with black.

The weather here in Atlanta has been on the crazy side, cold, rainy and today very humid.

I was wearing a jacket yesterday but today it was warm enough for a dress.

What's cooking: Pasta Salad my way.

This is my version of a pasta salad.

I got all my ingredients at Whole Foods.

I marinated chicken you can do however you like your chicken I used boneless thighs cause they have more flavor and when sauteing them they are still going to be juicy and moist.

Organic Pasta

zucchini and asparagus cut into bite size

baby tomatoes

peppadew peppers

After I cooked the pasta I mixed a little bit of organic Italian dressing and then added chicken and all the vegetables.

Flower Power!

The truth is I never though I would buy a flowery piece, but I fell in love with this top at F21. It is the right amount of flower and the colors are not too bright. I paired it with black pants for more of an edgy look. I need to brag a little now, the bag in the picture is handmade by Moi, yes don't ask me though how I did the sewing cause I did not have a pattern everything was in my head and I put it all together. The end result wow! I am truly happy with it. I can wait to start taking classes in September my intention is to take a class on how to work with patterns. I am so in love with all the fabrics out there that is becoming quite an expensive hobby.
