Where does one get inspirations from? I get new inspirations when I am in bed that is why I have a little notebook on my night stand so I can jot things down. I love working with leather, and I bought these little charms a couple weeks ago at a beadshow and they have been sitting on the desk for a while.
Here are some of the newest pieces I have made recently.

Kendra's Night Out Challenge!
I was asked by travel guru Kendra Thornton to help her put together something stylish for a night out at The Standard High Line Hotel The Standard High Line is a Hip Boutique Hotel, which is 18 stories high and offers stunning views of Manhattan. I decided to put together something, age appropriate but fun and trendy. This color scheme goes well with her it is fresh and beautiful perfect for a summer night out int he city and if it gets a little bit chilly she can throw on the minimalist jacket. I kept the accessories simple yet elegant. I gave her choice of a clutch or a bag.
Here is the Challenge Kendra sent me:
Thank you Kendra I am glad I got to be part of this challenge and I wish you tons of fun while you are out in New York City.
Here is the Challenge Kendra sent me:
Cities, Clothes and Pretzels
When a group
of friends invited me to join them on a trip to New York City, I immediately
agreed to the trip. I love family vacations and romantic breaks with my
husband, but sometimes I just need to get away with friends. Of course, New
York City is an awesome place to visit. From Little Italy to Chinatown, it is
like many different cities all rolled into one big city. The only one problem I
have lurks in my closet. There is nothing in my closet that I can see myself
walking around such an exciting place as New York City in. As a mom with 3
children, my style is more practical than fashionable. I am hoping with the
Kendra Fashion Challenge, my friends in the fashion industry will help me by
picking out the most flattering styles and colors for my new trendy wardrobe.
Spending time
in the Big Apple can be expensive. We decided to splurge and spend one special
evening out at the Standard High Line Hotel. After much debate, we decided on
some classic German fare at the famous Biergarten. Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner
manages this exciting venue. When the weather is warm and the sky is clear,
guests enjoy their meals in the open air, but as the weather turns unwelcoming
a glass enclosure protects and warms those eating inside. After a delicious
meal of sausage and pretzels, I plan to challenge my friends to an energetic
ping-pong that we can play while enjoying our rich German beer. I know that we
will have a great time, but the right outfit will make it even better.
Deciding what
to do while visiting New York City was simple after I visited gogobot.com. On
this website, I found real reviews from travelers just like myself that had
already been to the places I thought might be great to visit. After reading the
reviews, I was able to come up with a final “must see” list. I know that while
visiting one of the most
luxurious hotels in the city, The Standard High Line Hotel it will be more
memorable if I look great in my new clothes and feel amazing.

Instagrams and why I have been MIA!
School this year has taken a lot of my time this year, I am so happy I get to volunteer at the schools of my children. I get to welcome parents and visitors and direct them to where they need to go. Since I am the first person they get to see I make sure I greet them with a big smile.
Aside of that I have been on the board for the band association which also took a huge chunk of time. There were times I saw my sewing machine sitting on the desk looking right back at me. I truly tmiss being crafty. I am slowly trying to pick up things now. Meanwhile I have been teaching myself Portugese and I have been taking classes on Craftsy. Now that school is out you will see more of me and my life. Here are some of the things that happend while I was MIA.

What's cooking? Fishy !
There are days that I crave foods from where I come from , the island. I love fish, but here if I want to catch my own I have to drive 5 to 6 hours. Yesterday while shopping for greens for my daily juice I decided to buy fish at Whole Foods. I had to buy chicken also cause one of my children has a fish allergy.
I marinated the Tilapia with lemon and pepper and added a organic citrus seasoning I found at Whole Foods as well.
I made a creole sauce a la mom. (a combination of onions, tomatoes, garlic, peppers and a certain secret ingredient)
Sauteed fresh asparagus and broccoli, oven roasted sweet potatos and that was yesterday's dinner!
The difference about this creole sauce is that I added fresh dill to it.
