What's cooking?: Meatballs in a Tangy Plum Sauce.

I felt like making meatballs for tonight's dinner and according to my son it was the best dinner ever.
You can also serve these as an appetizer on their own.
I mixed organic ground beef with chopped onions , garlic and green peppers, I also added a mix of spices to the meat to give it more flavor, the sauce was a combination of soy sauce, plum sauce, honey, fresh ginger and Korean barbecue sauce. I sauteed broccoli cause the kids seems to eat it better than when I cook it.

Orange is the New Black.

Since I have been practicing with my new sewing machine I thought I will make myself a Maxi dress for my trip to the Caribbean.
The tutorial was very easy, and if I can make it you can make it too.

I bought my fabric at Hancock fabric, it's a knit fabric and I paid 20 dollars for 2 yards and half.
I still have leftover fabric that I will put to use for another diy project.
The Tutorial for this maxi dress can be found here thank you Mimi.

What's cooking? Pasta and Shrimp with homemade Pesto.

I tried to make dinner from scratch every single day during the week, the weekends are for my husband to cook. There are day's I want to cook something delicious but have not a lot of time.
So tonight's dinner is easy, quick and yummy.
We had tons of basil in our herb garden so my husband made pesto and we froze some it.
For this dish seasoned my shrimp and then sauteed it  (you can use chicken too) with chopped onions, then I added the pesto to it. Later on I added pasta I used Fettuccine and garnished it with toasted pine nuts, and fresh chopped basil.

Photography; Taking Selfies

I have been slacking with blogging and the main reason is not that I am in my bed watching TV or not doing nothing, it is just that I am busy. I try to post on here I guess I can't post every single day I just have to go with posting whenever I can which means maybe 3 times a week I think I can do that. Last week I was playing with my camera I was trying to take selfies for my facebook profile I like changing mine often, it is the same thing I have when it comes to decorating the house I get bored of the same old thing I like to spruce things and change things around.

This is what I do I position my camera in a way that it gets most of my face and of course I have it on a tripod and use the timer in this so it gives me time to perfectly smile and play around.
So here are some of my selfies of last week.

What's cooking? Chicken with a Mango Tarragon Sauce.

I like posting what I cook on Facebook it is not to brag for me it's a way to inspire others that cooking can be fun and easy if you try. I have come along way 17 years ago I couldn't even boil water but with persistence, watching cooking shows and just collecting recipes that I love I can say now that I enjoy the art of cooking.
I love experimenting in the kitchen I do not use measurements I just feel it and just taste what I need here and there. I love photography so I try to perfect the styling part of my dishes I love a colorful plate.
This sauce came together yesterday after thinking how I can present chicken in different way. I had mango and fresh tarragon leaves so I decided to mix those two with some red onions and some other secret herbs and I birthed this delicious tangy sauce to go with chicken. My kids love it so that means this one is a keeper.

Quick and Healthy: Pumpkin seeds with a kick.

I recently bought pumpkin seeds my daughter really likes and I love it when she snacks on something healthy. But for me I was missing something they seem plain and boring to me.
I spiced it up with spices I had on hand like cumin, Cajun spices, and other stuff I had in my pantry you even add pepper flakes. I coated them with a little bit of grape-seed oil mix them really good and toasted them in a pan. Now I have a yummy healthy snack that punches a spicy kick. Tonight I will paired with my favorite wine and enjoy the weather from my porch.
