What I made: ‘What’s Old is New Again!’

This months challenge from Artbeads is about combining something old with something new and to make it into a new jewelry design. I wanted to pick out my old piece first so on a trip to Washington DC, I stumbled upon a bead store and bought an old Ethiopian Cross Pendant. My inspiration board was covered with tribal fashion that week cause this particular cross looked like it belong to a queen of a tribe. I have researched tribal jewelry on the Internet and then I choose a mix of Red Magma and, Topaz and Caribbean Blue Swarovski crystal, Czech fire polished beads in an orange color I had some wood from Brazil on hand which I wanted to be in the center of the necklace around the cross pendant.

I wanted to say thank you to Duchess and Artbeads for this wonderfull opportunity.

My Etsy finds: Looking forward to Summer

I grew up on an island, and moved to the US a couple of years ago, currently I do not live close the beach. How I wish that, the smell of the Beach, sand between my toes, the wind in my hair and crystal clear waters. From fine art to sea glass all these beautiful pieces remind me that Summer is almost here even though this year I will not be going back to my sweet island of Bonaire, I can just pretend that the pool is my kinda private beach;)

I am wearing; Neutrals

I woke up with pain from yesterday's run. I officially started my Half Marathon training yesterday. I know I can do this. Never in a million years I thought I would be doing one, but since I have started running in January and doing the 5K, and watching a the Publix Marathon downtown Atlanta, it all inspired me to do something for myself. I did not write this down as a News Year resolution because when I write things like this down I sometimes quit before I know.

When I run, the first couple of minutes there is this voice that tells me to stop cause my ankle is hurting but I keep fighting it and then I can feel all my worries and stress leave, yes I do have some stress and worries occasionally. This is what I wore, I had to run errands and I love that this a no fuss, simple outfit that makes me happy

My Etsy find: Minimalism

The term minimalism is used to describe a trend in design and architecture where the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalist design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture.
Minimalist means to me simple, basic, plain, bare, unadorned, unfussy and clean lines. From Art to Jewelry each of these handmade pieces are exquisite, simply gorgeous.
